Vol à TRANS GAYE : Des employés surpris par la police de Rufisque en train de siphonner du carburant

The Rufisque central police station's urban security unit has taken three employees of TRANS GAYE, a company specializing in hydrocarbon transport, into custody. They are being prosecuted for conspiracy and the theft of fuel committed at night using a vehicle. According to Seneweb sources, the three individuals are driver AA Niane, apprentice driver A. Ndiaye, and security guard B. Fall.

In September 2025, TRANS GAYE, located at kilometer 22 on the Rufisque road, filed a complaint against persons unknown for multiple fuel thefts committed at the tanker truck parking area. The complaint, drafted by EM Gaye, the company's purchasing and supply director, was filed with the Rufisque central police station's urban security division on September 25, 2025.

Investigations have since been carried out by members of the research brigade for this purpose.

On January 19, the Rufisque central police received information that employees of the company had planned, during the night of January 20-21, 2026, to steal diesel fuel from tanks parked on the company's premises.

A stakeout was organized overnight. Around 1:30 a.m., a group of employees wearing company uniforms were spotted in the twilight siphoning diesel fuel from tanker trucks and loading it into a private vehicle. Police officers then launched an assault, and three suspects were arrested. The rest of the group managed to escape.

Taken to the station and briefly questioned, the three accused confessed to the charges against them. According to the driver, AA Niane, he borrowed the vehicle from his brother, who lives in Thiès, for the occasion.

At the time of the incident, ten bottles, four of which were filled with diesel fuel, were seized at the scene and in the vehicle. The vehicle and the diesel fuel bottles were placed under seal for the purposes of the investigation.

The investigation continues to apprehend the rest of the gang. Prosecutor Cheikh Diakhoumpa, head of the Rufisque prosecutor's office, has been informed of the facts.
