Vols en série à Fann Résidence : un vigile et son réseau arrêtés
Industrialist A. Moukhader filed a complaint on August 21 after discovering, upon his return from Lebanon, that his vehicle's ignition key, his Total fuel card and 200,000 CFA francs had disappeared from his home in Fann Residence.
This was the third theft suffered by the family, who had also reported the disappearance of gold and diamond jewelry worth 100 million CFA francs belonging to his wife, Libération reports in its edition of the day.
Investigations, conducted through number tracing and technical investigations, led to the arrest of the security guard, Mr. Biaye. According to the same source, he confessed to the thefts and implicated his nephew, A. Massaly. A search led to the recovery of the key and fuel card.
The security guard explained that he would break into his bosses' room, using a ladder to climb through the window when they were away, in order to steal the jewelry. He would then sell it to a jeweler, Gn. Sall, who would in turn sell it to P. Kassé, based in "Lalou Wourouss."
The entire network was brought before the public prosecutor on Monday for criminal conspiracy, multiple thefts with escalation, fraudulent withdrawals via a computer system, receiving stolen goods and complicity, Libération added.
