Wamba : Un nouvel incendie détruit une dizaine de cases et relance les inquiétudes
A violent fire ravaged about ten houses in Wamba, a village in the commune of Madina Baffé, department of Saraya, on Monday, December 8. The fire broke out around 11 a.m., reducing the homes of six families to ashes, while the cause of the blaze remains unknown.
Although no loss of life has been reported, the material damage is particularly significant: household utensils, food reserves, clothing and other essential goods have been consumed, plunging the victims into a situation of great precarity.
According to information gathered on site, this is the fourth fire recorded in the village in less than two weeks. Although the first incidents were less destructive, their recurrence, occurring almost at the same time of day, raises many questions. Some residents are even referring to them as "mysterious fires," fueling an atmosphere of fear and confusion.
Faced with the uncontrollable flames, community solidarity quickly emerged. The villagers, mobilized with determination, managed to control the blaze before it spread to other properties.
Today, the local population is calling on local and departmental authorities. They are demanding a thorough investigation to determine the exact causes of these repeated fires, as well as preventative measures and support for the affected families.
Meanwhile, the victims are organizing themselves as best they can, hoping for a swift intervention to help them rebuild their homes and regain some stability.
