Yeumbeul : Il viole à répétition sa nièce de 8 ans, la famille tente d'étouffer l'affaire
It was a teacher who raised the alarm. On April 30, 2026, after her student, an 8-year-old girl born in 2018, confided in her about the abuse she was suffering, she alerted the school principal. The principal, accompanied by the teacher and two "Badianou Gokh" (a term used to refer to a group of young people), then filed a complaint with the Yeumbeul district police station.
The investigation revealed that the victim, whose parents reside in Mali, lived in the same house as her paternal uncle, the alleged perpetrator. The girl stated that the assaults occurred at night, when her legal guardian was not present. Adding to the seriousness of the situation, the child claimed that her father and other family members were aware of the abuse, but that her father had arranged an out-of-court settlement to cover it up.
But thanks to pressure exerted on the legal guardian, the accused was located and arrested on May 2, 2026. During his interrogation, he admitted to all the facts and was taken into custody for repeated rapes of a minor.
The investigation is ongoing, particularly to determine the responsibilities of family members regarding the failure to report a crime and the endangerment of the minor.
