Yeumbeul : pris en flagrant délit, des dealers lâchent leurs pitbulls sur les policiers
On the night of Friday, April 17, 2026, around midnight, the elements of the research brigade of the Yeumbeul-Comico district police station, under the command of Commissioner Ousmane Diop, dismantled a drug trafficking network in the Afia 2 district, at the end of a particularly perilous operation.
Acting on an anonymous tip reporting heavy drug trafficking in a home in the area, police set up a discreet surveillance operation.
Four dogs shot dead
After several hours of surveillance and faced with suspicious comings and goings, they stormed the premises. The occupants then unleashed pit bull dogs on the officers, who had to use their service weapons to subdue the four animals. One of the police officers narrowly escaped being bitten, according to Seneweb sources.
With the suspects subdued, a general search of the home led to the seizure of 20 cones of Indian hemp, 5 pieces of crack, one piece of kush, 10 unidentified stones, as well as tablets including Antinorex.
A flat screen television, a scooter and a Jakarta motorcycle were also seized.
Four individuals were arrested: I. Thiam, a 39-year-old security guard residing in Fass Mbao; M. Mbengue, a 20-year-old butcher residing in Fass Mbao; A. Fall, a 21-year-old mechanic residing in Mbed Fass; and I. Cissé, a 30-year-old tailor residing in Fass Mbao. When questioned, the four denie the charges and attribute the seized goods to a certain "Nekh," who is still at large.
The unidentified substances were sent to the Technical and Scientific Police Division for authentication. The public prosecutor, Saliou Dicko, was informed and an investigation is underway.
