Zac-Mbao : deux agresseurs frôlent la mort
The Mentor neighborhood in the Zac-Mbao district was the scene of extreme violence this Saturday. Three young men on a motorcycle attempted to rob a woman on her way to a religious ceremony. Threatened with a knife, the victim handed over her phone but resisted for her bag, alerting the neighbors with her screams.
The reaction from local residents was immediate and brutal. While the motorcyclist initially managed to escape, his two accomplices, A. Ndiaye (18 years old) and CT Diouf (20 years old), were intercepted by an enraged crowd. The two young men were subjected to a brutal attack (stones, blows, and various projectiles) and owe their lives only to the last-minute intervention of the Zac-Mbao police. Unconscious and seriously injured, they were rescued from the mob and taken under escort to a health center.
The fugitive, D. Mar (19 years old), was eventually apprehended by construction workers later that day. The investigation revealed that two of the three suspects are repeat offenders who had already served time in prison for theft. Despite their precarious health following the attack, the three accomplices were brought before the prosecutor. They were remanded in custody on charges of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and use of a bladed weapon and a means of transport, specifically a motorcycle, reports L'Observateur.
