Ziarra générale 2026 : Tivaouane au cœur de la ferveur religieuse nationale
It is through a strong mobilization of thousands of faithful from all corners of Senegal, the sub-region and even beyond, therefore in a context marked by a large influx from the early hours of the morning, a reinforced security and health system to ensure the taking place of this spiritual call in optimal conditions, that the religious city of Tivaouane celebrates, this Sunday April 12, 2026, the General Ziara, a major spiritual event of the Tijaniyya, an important event in the national religious calendar, which constitutes a moment of reflection, prayers and communion around the legacy of Mame Khalifa.
As is customary, for almost 72 hours now, Tivaouane-la-pieuse, for the purposes of this gathering which is one of the flagship events of the city of Mame Maodo, has been welcoming the faithful who are flocking to the city of Mame Maodo in large numbers to answer the call of the Caliph General, renewing their loyalty and devotion to their respective spiritual guides. The day was marked, among other things, by an official ceremony and a range of activities.
