Ziguinchor : L’affaire de la démolition du bâtiment de Boucotte-Sindian refait surface
The case of the demolition of a building in Boucotte-Sindian, in the municipality of Ziguinchor, has resurfaced, with the public prosecutor's office summoning the 10 workers arrested in late July/early August 2025. Several sources contacted confirmed the summons of these road maintenance workers from the Ziguinchor City Hall.
The reasons for this action have not been made public. However, some leaks link the summons of these 10 municipal employees to Mayor Djibril Sonko's failure to pay the 6 million CFA franc bail during the mediation.
This case caused a lot of noise in Ziguinchor at the end of July and mid-August 2025 with the imprisonment of these agents for destruction of private property.
Ultimately, the numerous calls for the release of the individuals and the negotiations with the plaintiff resulted in an agreement. The transfer of land and the payment of a 6 million bond were finally agreed upon by both parties.
Is the summons of these 10 agents linked to the mayor's failure to honor his commitments?
To be continued.
