Kalidou Koulibaly convoqué malgré sa blessure : Pape Thiaw affiche sa confiance avant le Mondial
National coach Pape Thiaw has been reassuring regarding the health of the Lions' captain, Kalidou Koulibaly, who has been called up despite his injury for the World Cup.
When questioned about the defender's situation during his press conference, Pape Thiaw sought to calm concerns surrounding his defensive leader.
According to him, Koulibaly's recovery is progressing in the right direction and the player should be ready at the decisive moment of the competition.
“Kalidou Koulibaly is the glue of this team. He is the captain of this team. He is in a positive rehabilitation process. With three weeks I think he will be fit. And the World Cup is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. I think he will be ready,” said the Senegalese coach.
Despite questions about his physical condition, the Lions' staff prefers to rely on the experience and leadership of their captain, considered an indispensable member of the group as the World Cup approaches.
