Cyberattaque contre la DAF : la troublante coïncidence, le partenaire malaisien alerté
In its Thursday edition, Libération reveals details of the cyberattack suffered by the Directorate of File Automation (DAF), information that Seneweb relayed the previous day, albeit using the conditional tense. The daily newspaper confirms that the incident occurred five days prior. "As a result, the production [of identification documents] has been temporarily suspended to prevent any compromise," the same source reports.
The attack was claimed by The Green Blood Group. This mysterious entity claims to possess 139 TB (terabytes) of DAF data. In any case, as Libération reports, it comes amid a standoff between Iris Corporation, the Malaysian company that won the contract to produce digitized National Identity Cards (CNI), and the French government over unpaid bills.
Having been informed, the Malaysians have pledged to deploy a team to Senegal, the newspaper reports. It adds that, in the meantime, "DAF technicians are working diligently and a statement is expected in the coming hours."
