Inauguration du Poste de Police de Diamaguene Sicap Mbao : Un jalon pour la sécurité de proximité
On Thursday, April 9, 2026, the municipality of Diamaguene Sicap Mbao experienced a historic moment with the official inauguration of its new police station. The ceremony, presided over by the Minister of the Interior and Public Security, Mouhamadou Bamba Cissé, took place in the presence of the Inspector General of Police, Mame Seydou Ndour, Director General of the National Police, the mayor of the municipality, Aliou Beye, as well as administrative, military, religious, and traditional authorities.
The event began with the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony by the minister, followed by a guided tour of the brand-new premises. This new building strengthens local security measures in a rapidly growing municipality, both demographically and economically.
In his address, Minister Bamba Cissé emphasized the importance of community policing as a tool for building trust between the public and the security forces. He stressed that security is a shared responsibility, urging citizens, cultural and sporting stakeholders to collaborate closely with the police to prevent crime and promote a culture of peace.
He also reaffirmed the government's commitment, under the leadership of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, to continue the program of modernization and expansion of the security network throughout the territory.

Speaking at the event, the mayor of Djiddah Thiaroye Kao, Alioune Beye, expressed his gratitude to the State and the Ministry of the Interior for their support. He emphasized the historic nature of this inauguration, which addresses a pressing need expressed by the local population. He stated that this modern police station represents a concrete response to the security challenges facing the municipality and provides a dignified working environment for the police officers.
Beyond its core government function, this police station embodies a dynamic partnership between the state, local authorities, and citizens. It marks an important step in strengthening community policing, the foundation of the municipality's economic and social development.
