At the invitation of the Senegal Defence Institute (IDS), the Director General of the National Police, Inspector General of Police Mame Seydou Ndour, held a conference on Tuesday before an audience composed of officers from the Higher War College and trainees from the Staff College.

Warmly welcomed and introduced to the audience, the Director General took his seat after the welcome address delivered by Brigadier General Abdou Latif Kamara, Director of the IDS, who set the tone for this exceptional meeting.

Organized around the theme "The fight against irregular migration: Challenges, operational response and perspectives, the example of Senegal", the conference allowed Inspector General Mame Seydou Ndour to share expertise forged over his years at the head of the Border Police Directorate.

After a conceptual overview of immigration and a review of its evolution, he highlighted the operational responses deployed by security forces, particularly the national police, at both the legal and operational levels. The missions, resources, and statistics of the past three years were also reviewed, before concluding with a discussion of prospects for strengthening the national framework and deepening international cooperation.

The presentation was followed by rich exchanges between the director general and the audience, demonstrating the interest that this topic arouses at the heart of current security concerns.

As a token of appreciation, the authorities of the Senegalese Defense Institute presented their distinguished guest with a symbolic gift and invited him to sign the institution's guestbook. The ceremony concluded with a group photograph.
