Sécurité routière : La Police nationale encaisse plus de 1,4 milliard FCFA d'amendes en 2025
The National Police recorded significant results in road safety during the year 2025. Control and enforcement actions generated 1,415,111,037 CFA francs in revenue from fixed fines, according to the report presented by Baïdy Sène during the presentation of the institution's annual report.
This significant amount is largely due to the increased police presence. Enforcement operations have been stepped up on key roads to combat risky behavior and ensure compliance with traffic laws.
Summary of field operations
In total, 2,159 traffic control operations were carried out across the country. These operations resulted in the seizure of 276,246 administrative documents related to various traffic violations. As part of these operations, 5,488 motorcycles were also impounded, primarily for lack of documentation or traffic violations.
Road safety remains a major challenge for the authorities. The National Police reiterate that the strict application of the Highway Code is essential to protecting road users and reducing the human and economic consequences of accidents.
The control operations and sanctions provided for by the regulations are thus part of an overall strategy aimed at strengthening public safety while contributing to state revenue through fines related to traffic offences.
