Under the supervision of the Directorate of Public Security, the national police conducted a large-scale security operation covering the entire country during the night of December 13-14, 2025. This extensive mobilization of police officers yielded significant results in the fight against crime and various offenses.

In total, according to Seneweb sources, 372 people were arrested during this nighttime operation. Among them, 157 individuals were apprehended for identity checks.

Public order offenses also featured prominently in this report. Forty-nine people were apprehended for public intoxication, while 30 others were detained for investigative purposes, and one person for vagrancy.

The drug trafficking aspect was a major focus of this security operation. Police arrested seven people for possession and use of marijuana, in addition to six individuals apprehended for offering and distributing the same substance. One person was arrested for possession and group use of marijuana.

Regarding other drugs, three people were apprehended for possession and use of crack cocaine, and five others for use of cellulose products.

This offensive against narcotics resulted in seizures: 500 grams of Indian hemp, 88 cones and three joints of the same substance, as well as a ball of crack, were removed from circulation.

The operation also led to the arrest of individuals involved in various criminal offenses. Six people were apprehended for conspiracy, three for armed robbery, four for simple theft, two for being caught in the act of theft, and one for attempted theft.

Other offences noted include two cases of violence and assault, one case of manslaughter by road traffic accident, one case of pimping, one case of breach of trust, one case of receiving stolen goods, one case of arson, as well as one person arrested for failure to register in the health and social file.

Beyond the arrests, this operation was accompanied by strict administrative measures. Law enforcement impounded 29 cars and 32 motorcycles, for a total of 61 vehicles immobilized for various traffic violations.

Furthermore, 642 items were seized during the inspections, demonstrating the extent of the checks carried out. Financially, fixed fines totaling 944,000 CFA francs were imposed on the offenders.
