The National Assembly of Senegal received a trophy at the Africa T-Awards 2026 on Saturday, April 4, at the Grand National Theatre, in recognition of its significant progress in the digitalization of its operations.
This distinction recognizes the reforms undertaken under the leadership of the institution's president, El Malick Ndiaye, aimed at modernizing parliamentary practices and fully integrating digital tools into the management of activities.
Notable achievements include the dematerialization of budget reports, the provision of tablets to members of parliament, and the development of digital solutions dedicated to legislative work.
The President of the National Assembly, who was absent from the ceremony, was represented by a delegation including MPs Serigne Abdou Lahad Ndiaye, Samba Diouf, Adama Tandjigora and Amadou Al Amin Diouf, accompanied by members of the cabinet and the Director of Information Systems, Daouda Diaw.
According to officials at the institution, the digital transition is now almost complete, with a completion rate close to 100%.
This recognition positions the National Assembly of Senegal among the most advanced institutions in terms of modernization on the African continent, in line with the ambitions of the technological New Deal supported by public authorities.
