At the Baux Maraîchers bus station, the situation is indescribable. Indignation has replaced hope for hundreds of travelers heading to Ziguinchor.
Arriving as early as 8 a.m., many passengers waited desperately for the Senegal Dem Dikk buses, which were conspicuously absent. When a rare vehicle finally appeared, the scene descended into chaos: it was literally stormed, sweeping aside all respect for the order of arrival in an indescribable stampede.
The frustration is all the greater because the national company's logistical promises have not been kept. While four departure points had been announced (Colobane, Baux Maraîchers, HLM Grand-Yoff and Pikine), only the one at Baux Maraîchers seems to be operational, concentrating all the distress at a single site.
On the eve of Easter, these travelers find themselves stranded, fearing they will never reach Casamance in time to celebrate the Feast of the Resurrection.
