As a prelude to International Civil Aviation Day celebrated every December 7, Anacim and its partners in the Senegal ULM committee (all civil and military aviation stakeholders) are organizing, from November 30 to December 7, 2025, an air tour of Senegal in ULM (ultra-light motorized aircraft).

An initiative to promote light aviation to the general public and present the opportunities of the aeronautical world to young people, supported by the Ministry of Land and Air Transport, with all stakeholders in civil and military aviation. Twelve stages across the country are planned.

The Director General of Anacim, Dr Diaga Basse, presided, on behalf of the supervising minister, over the official launch ceremony, this Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD), in the presence of the Director General of LAS, Askin Démir, the President of the ULM Committee, Bernard Salomon, the Deputy Regional Director of the ICAO office in Dakar, and the Director General of AIBD SA, Cheikh Mamadou Abiboulaye Dièye.

He points out that, following the organization of International Civil Aviation Day, which aims to raise awareness among governments and the general public about the challenges facing civil aviation, the tour seeks to bring the public closer to aeronautics, showcase regional assets, and establish light aviation as a lasting driver of economic, tourism, and social development. The goal is to bring aircraft and crews closer to the people through a national circuit.

The specific objectives set through this activity aim to "offer at least 100 young people their first flight, promote aeronautics among young people, schools, universities and local communities, involve the population in a unique and inclusive aerial adventure, and mobilize local authorities around a national event."

And also "strengthen cooperation between aviation actors, public institutions, defense forces and private partners, enhance the tourist, economic and cultural sites of the regions crossed, promote the image of Senegal in the context of the celebration of December 7, 2025".

An event which, beyond its educational dimension, is a privileged moment of gathering, transmission and celebration of the passion which unites all the players around the sky, aeronautics and innovation.

The Director General of Anacim recalled that this initiative, unprecedented in its ambition and scope, illustrates the open, inclusive and civic dimension that Senegal wishes to give to the development of air transport in the country.
