Accueil du président Diomaye : Babacar Diop salue la mobilisation des populations
After welcoming Head of State Bassirou Diomaye Faye and accompanying him to the governor's residence, the mayor of Thiès, Babacar Diop, expressed his great pride in the mobilization of his fellow citizens.
The mayor of Thiès, the railway capital, was in high spirits as he walked from the government building to City Hall, surrounded by a crowd of supporters who had come to cheer him on. In a festive atmosphere, he took the opportunity to thank the people of Thiès for their strong turnout.
“I am proud to be from Thiès. I am proud of the way the people of Thiès welcomed the President of the Republic. Despite the transport strike which greatly disrupted our program, the people of Thiès turned out in large numbers to welcome the President,” he said.
The mayor also emphasized the residents' gratitude to the Head of State for the historic decision to relocate the independence celebrations to Thiès. He praised the commitment of all segments of society, particularly young people, women, and the elderly.
“I thank all the people of Thiès who came out to thank President Diomaye. The celebration is already shaping up to be wonderful. We invite everyone to join us again tomorrow. Everyone should come out very early to attend the parade,” said Babacar Diop, calling for an even stronger turnout for the rest of the festivities.
