Colonel El Hadji Oumar Faye, Commander of Military Zone No. 7, presided over the closing ceremony of the 2026 National Military Inter-Corps Football Championship, organized by Military Zone No. 7.

In his address, the senior officer expressed his pride and satisfaction with all the participants, praising their commitment, discipline, and professionalism throughout the competition. He stated that these values perfectly reflect the qualities of an operational soldier.

"The national military football championship is a demanding activity both physically and mentally. By facing fatigue, pain and pressure, you have proven your ability to sustain the effort, persevere and surpass yourselves while remaining united," he said.

Colonel El Hadji Oumar Faye also stressed that the performances recorded during this competition are the result of rigorous training, daily discipline and numerous sacrifices made by the participants.

Beyond the sporting aspect, he emphasized the importance of the cohesion and camaraderie developed during the tournament. He therefore encouraged the soldiers to preserve the bonds forged during the competition so that they could ultimately translate into greater operational effectiveness in the field.

The National Fire Brigade crowned champion

The Commander of Military Zone No. 7 then congratulated the champion team of the National Fire Brigade and the runner-up team of Military Zone No. 5. Individually distinguished players were also honored.

In closing, he reminded everyone that each participant deserves recognition for their commitment and sense of honor before congratulating the entire Military Zone No. 7 for the quality of the organization and the welcome extended to the various delegations.
