Mouvance présidentielle : Guy Marius Sagna acte la séparation entre l'État et le Parti
MP Guy Marius Sagna has publicly distanced himself from President Bassirou Diomaye Faye following the latter's recent remarks regarding his stance on the party led by Ousmane Sonko. Responding to this statement on the Walf TV program "Opinion," the parliamentarian asserted that, "since this position was taken, the Head of State can no longer be considered his political authority within the movement."
A deliberate break with the hierarchy
“My political authority is no longer the President of the Republic. My political authority remains the party president, Ousmane Sonko,” Guy Marius Sagna firmly stated. According to him, the clarification made by the Head of State marks a clear break with the party's political leadership. “After this general assembly, the President of the Republic is no longer involved in the political leadership of Pastef. He acknowledges this clearly and without reservation. He has the right to do so,” he added.
The MP therefore believes that this new structure must be fully embraced by the various leaders of the movement. This stance comes at a time when the relationship between the party apparatus and the exercise of executive power continues to fuel debate within the majority.
For Guy Marius Sagna, the current situation demands that all political conclusions be drawn from this clarification. "All conclusions must be drawn," he insisted, reiterating that the only political authority he recognizes remains that of the party leader, Ousmane Sonko.
