New Deal Technologique : Le ministre Alioune Sall magnifie les prouesses de Dakar Dem Dikk
As part of the New Deal for Technology, the Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs visited the headquarters of Dakar Dem Dikk (DDD) in Ouakam, Dakar, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The purpose of the visit was to observe the technological advancements that DDD has implemented over the past two years, which now allow Senegalese citizens to be at the heart of decision-making through data.
Several digital transformations implemented by the new general management
The New Deal for Technology is taking shape at Dakar Dem Dikk, Senegal's national public transport company. This observation was made by the Minister of Communication, Telecommunications, and Digital Affairs. Welcomed by Director General Assane Mbengue, Alioune Sall, accompanied by his staff, visited all the completed and ongoing digital projects designed to benefit users. These projects include the control room, the call center, and the operations room, where this ambitious initiative, aimed at strengthening Senegal's digital sovereignty by leveraging innovation for social and economic progress, is being realized under the enlightened vision of Director General Assane Mbengue.
Here, the minister witnessed firsthand the digital transformation undertaken by the management, particularly with the Smart Bus, the operational support system (SAEIV), and the Operational Control Center (CCO), the brain of real-time management. A key step in strengthening the safety and traceability of buses and passengers throughout the country.
"These technological advances should serve as an example in other sectors."
At the end of his visit, Alioune Sall did not hide his satisfaction with what he saw. "This is an opportunity for us to congratulate the Director General Assane Mbengue for these significant advances that we have observed today during the visit, which are perfectly aligned with the materialized vision of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and the Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, within the framework of the New Technological Deal," emphasized the state authority in charge of steering the New Technological Deal.
He adds: "Today, we are more than satisfied because these are things that we have been seeing in other countries for more than 20 years now. Seeing all that has been done, I think we should even organize open days in the coming weeks to show the Senegalese people what has already been done here."
According to the minister, these technological advances developed and materialized by Dakar Dem Dikk through local expertise should serve as an example in other sectors such as: health, water, agriculture, livestock, among others.
It is worth recalling that Senegal's New Deal for Technology (2025-2034), launched a year ago, is a digital transformation strategy structured around four main pillars: digital sovereignty, the digitization of public services, the development of the digital economy, and positioning Senegal as an African leader in the digital sector. It aims to transform public management by digitizing administrative services, while encouraging active collaboration between the government, the private sector, and development partners.
