Astar, ambassadrice de Sky Girls
Senegalese singer Astar has been named Sky Girls' new ambassador. She made the announcement yesterday, Monday, on social media. The artist then expressed her joy and highlighted the importance of this mission.
"This project is particularly close to my heart because it carries a strong message that I have been defending since the beginning of my career: that of authenticity and self-confidence. Being a Sky Girl is, above all, choosing to be yourself. It is daring to follow your dreams, even when it seems impossible, defending your values and inspiring other girls to believe in their potential. Together, we form a close-knit, positive and ambitious community, ready to build a better future for ourselves and for all the young girls who dream big," said the young singer.
Astar also added that it was this energy, this sound, that inspired her a lot and, above all, made her proud. "Thank you to the entire Sky Girls team for this wonderful initiative and thank you to all the Sky Sisters for your commitment, your strength, and your light. Together, let's stay strong and proud to be ourselves, no matter our size or skin color. This is the girls' corner, and I'm proud to represent it," she said.
Sky Girls refers to the empowerment and social media program for young girls in sub-Saharan Africa. It was launched in 2014 to combat tobacco use. This program has expanded to address issues such as HIV, gender equality, and access to financial services.
