Sécurité au travail : la SNR forme ses agents aux gestes d'urgence et à la gestion des risques

The National Recovery Company (SNR) concluded an intensive capacity-building program in security and risk management this Friday, October 17, 2025. For three weeks, the company's employees received training in first aid, fire extinguishing, and risk assessment.

The initiative, which aims to promote a proactive safety culture, concluded with a full-scale fire evacuation exercise at the SNR premises.

The urgency of prevention

"This practical exercise comes after three weeks of training for SNR agents to teach them the basics of evacuation in the event of a fire," said SNR Director General, Mr. Babacar Ndiaye.

He expressed his satisfaction: "We are very happy to learn the basics of evacuation in the event of a disaster, which, while we certainly do not want it, could be useful to us in the future and could also help us save lives." Mr. Ndiaye recalled the need for prevention in all of the company's activities.

On the union side, General Secretary Cheikh Dramé warmly welcomed the initiative. He emphasized that safety and hygiene are a key element of the demands: "Working conditions are not only those that allow employees to perform their duties; hygiene and safety conditions are also included," he said, believing that "this training came at the right time."

Vital knowledge for business and society

Aminata S, Human Resources Director (HRD), said the training gave staff an understanding of first aid procedures. "Through this evacuation drill, staff will be able to handle a fire regardless of its size," she explained.

Ms. Marthe Mariane, President of the SNR staff association, emphasized the societal importance of these new skills: "This training is of capital importance because it allows us to acquire knowledge both in business and in social life. We have even received courses for domestic accidents."

For his part, Major Cheikh Sadiya Sonko, trainer, recalled that learning first aid and fire evacuation is a "requirement of the Labor Code." It was following a prevention visit to the building by the emergency services that it was deemed necessary to provide this training to SNR staff.

The three modules taught included: fire extinguishing (handling emergency equipment), first aid (mastering first aid) and evacuation drills. At the end of these three weeks of training, the officers received their end-of-training certificates from Major Sonko.

On vous demande de recouvrer des créances toujours accrochées à votre compteurs. Au lieu de ça à grand renforts de com coûteux, vous parlez de risques professionnels comme si vous étiez dans les BTP ou industries chimiques.
