Sécurité : La Police nationale s'enrichit de 2 494 éléments, dont 333 femmes

The Minister of the Interior and Public Security, Mr. Mouhamadou Bamba Cissé, presided over the graduation ceremony for the 49th class of the Police Non-Commissioned Officer School. The ceremony took place in the town of Mbadakhoune, in the presence of the Governor of the Kaolack region, Mouhamadou Moctar Watt, and other high-ranking officials, including the Director General of the National Police.

In total, 2,494 students, including 333 female staff members, completed their course after two years of training.

According to the Minister of the Interior, Mouhamadou Bamba Cissé, this ceremony represents a major milestone in the lives of these trainee officers. They have just overcome two years of hardship and learning, both in terms of hard work and also happiness, imposed by their instructors. These instructors "held complete authority over you and instilled in you a life of dedication to work, seriousness in conduct, and above all, humility and patience—values without which knowledge cannot be acquired—all with the sole aim of passing on this precious torch to you," he reminded them.

Continuing his speech, he noted that this initiation phase is certainly a generally difficult and trying period for young students, but that it also allows them to confirm their vocation and lay the foundation of values on which they will have to build their behavior and their future career.

The 49th class, now composed of law enforcement and security forces, or agents responsible for the application of the law, has as its guiding principle the accomplishment of the mission for the good of the public service, the observation of laws, the execution of regulations and the respect for the institutions of Senegal.

“Members of the 49th class, becoming a police officer in 2026 is not a trivial choice. It is an act of profound commitment to our republican values. Behind the uniform you wear with pride, there is a noble mission: that of protecting our fellow citizens,” he reminded them.
