Tivaouane : L'adjoint au Gouverneur Ababacar Sadikh Niang appelle à préserver « l’exception sénégalaise »

During the Tabaski prayer held this Thursday in Tivaouane, Mr. Ababacar Sadikh Niang, Deputy Governor of the Thiès region, made a strong appeal for solidarity, dialogue, and social cohesion, in a context marked by the concurrent celebration of National Dialogue Day. In his address, he first extended his respectful greetings to Serigne Babacar Sy Mansour, the Caliph General of the Tijaniyya order, to the family of Seydil El Hadji Malick Sy, and to the religious and traditional authorities of the region. He also offered prayers for their health and longevity.

The Deputy Governor then praised the teachings delivered by the Imam during the Tabaski sermon, before congratulating all the local stakeholders and key players who contributed to the successful preparation of the festival, despite the numerous constraints encountered.

Preserving Senegal's exceptional status and respecting republican laws

Taking advantage of this platform, Ababacar Sadikh Niang emphasized the need to preserve the values that underpin "Senegal's exceptionalism." According to him, solidarity, dialogue, and social cohesion remain essential pillars enabling Senegal to remain "an island of stability in an ocean of sub-regional and regional instability." Returning to the spiritual meaning of Tabaski, he stressed that this festival primarily teaches "acceptance of divine will" and "submission to instructions and recommendations." He thus invited citizens to cultivate these values in their daily lives, both at home and in public spaces.

Ababacar Sadikh Niang also urged the population to respect religious precepts, the laws and regulations of the Republic, and the symbolic values that govern Senegalese society, in order to actively contribute to the country's development. In conclusion, he requested prayers from religious leaders for unity, stability, harmony, and shared prosperity for the benefit of the entire Senegalese nation.
