Fleuve Gambie : Montée des eaux à Kédougou et à Gouloumbou, chute à Mako et à Simenti
The hydrological situation on the Gambia River is marked, this Tuesday, August 19, by a rise in the water level of the hydrometric stations of Kédougou (5.13 m this Tuesday morning against 4.46 m Monday) and Gouloumbou (7.01 m Tuesday morning against 6.36 m yesterday, August 18), according to "Le Soleil".
The source also reports that the Mako and Simenti hydrometric stations have experienced a drop in their water levels. More specifically, it reports, the hydrological bulletin of the Tambacounda-Kédougou water resources brigade of Tuesday, August 19 at 8 a.m. indicates that in Kédougou and Gouloumbou, an increase in the water level of these two stations was noted.
"At the Kédougou station, the water level recorded this morning at 8 a.m. is 5.13 m compared to 4.46 m on August 18, 2025 at 8 a.m. The trend is upwards of 67 cm. At the Gouloumbou station, the water level recorded this morning at 8 a.m. is 7.01 m compared to 6.36 m on August 18, 2025 at 8 a.m. The trend is upwards of 65 cm," indicates the bulletin taken up by the national daily.
In Mako, the water level dropped from 4.21 m to 4.10 m, and in Simenti, from 8.90 m to 8.60 m.
