Diamaguène-Sicap Mbao : Un dealer arrêté par la police suite à une tentative de fuite

The Diamaguène-Sicap Mbao district police station carried out a major operation that led to the arrest of a drug trafficker. Under the direction of Commissioner Cheikh Tidiane Diallo, the police carried out the dramatic arrest of S. Wade, aged 25, who identified himself as a professional fisherman.

The arrest took place during a routine foot patrol conducted by law enforcement in the sensitive Biafra area. The plainclothes personnel quickly attracted the attention of the suspect, who, upon seeing them, immediately attempted to flee to evade police control.

This suspicious reaction only reinforced the suspicions of the officers, who quickly caught up with the fugitive. The ensuing body search revealed that S. Wade was carrying 15 cones of Indian hemp, thus confirming the police officers' intuitions.

Suspect denies trafficking

Faced with the evidence, the accused was taken into custody for offering or transferring Indian hemp. During his interrogation, S. Wade attempted to minimize the facts by emphasizing his status as a simple consumer, dismissing any accusations of drug trafficking.

However, the quantity of drugs discovered in his possession, divided into 15 separate cones, suggests organized distribution activity rather than personal consumption, according to investigators.

Legal proceedings initiated

The narcotics were confiscated and sealed in accordance with current procedures. S. Wade was brought before the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court last Monday.

This operation, led by the Diamaguène-Sicap Mbao police station, illustrates the police's ongoing vigilance in the face of the drug scourge. Regular patrols and unannounced checks are essential tools in this daily fight against traffickers who attempt to sell their illicit products in working-class neighborhoods.
