Premier League : Accroché par Everton, Manchester City perd deux précieux points dans la course au titre
A spectacular match and a cascade of twists and turns at Hill Dickinson Stadium. On Matchday 35 of the Premier League, Manchester City were held to a high-scoring 3-3 draw by Everton FC, dropping two valuable points in the title race.
The Citizens opened the scoring through Jérémy Doku (43rd minute), but the Toffees turned the game around in the second half. Thierno Barry first equalized (69th minute), before Jake O'Brien gave the home side the lead (73rd minute). Moments later, Barry completed his brace (81st minute), plunging City into doubt.
But Pep Guardiola's men responded. Erling Haaland pulled one back (83rd minute), completely revitalizing the match. Just when defeat seemed inevitable, Doku popped up in stoppage time (90+7) to snatch a last-gasp point.
A bitter draw for City, who now have 71 points with a game in hand, and see Arsenal FC retain the lead with 76 points.
In this nail-biting end to the season, every point counts and this misstep could have serious consequences for the outcome of the championship.
