Premier League : Chelsea FC en pleine crise après une nouvelle défaite devant Forest
Things are going from bad to worse for Chelsea FC. Struggling for several weeks, the Blues suffered a sixth consecutive Premier League defeat, losing at home on Monday to Nottingham Forest (1-3) in the 35th round of matches.
From the start of the match, the visitors made a strong start with Taiwo Awoniyi opening the scoring early (2nd minute), before Igor Jesus doubled the lead from the penalty spot (15th minute).
Dominant in their finishing, the Reds capitalized on every opportunity, unlike a London side lacking in clinical edge. A symbol of this inefficiency was Cole Palmer's penalty miss in first-half stoppage time (45+10).
After the break, Awoniyi bagged a brace (52nd minute), further sinking Chelsea into doubt. Despite a goal being disallowed for offside in the 73rd minute, João Pedro finally pulled one back in the dying moments (90+3) with a spectacular acrobatic effort, but it wasn't enough to turn the tide.
This latest setback leaves Chelsea (48 pts) stuck in 9th place, further distancing themselves from European ambitions. Conversely, Nottingham Forest (16th, 42 pts) made a valuable move in the relegation battle, gaining some breathing room in the standings.
