Côte d’Ivoire : Charles Blé Goudé « menacé de mort »

Charles Blé Goudé clearly doesn't only have admirers in Côte d'Ivoire. The former leader of the Young Patriots is reportedly the subject of "death threats and public insults." This was stated by his lawyer, Serge Ouraga, yesterday, Thursday, after filing a complaint with the public prosecutor at the Abidjan-Plateau court.

"This relentlessness has taken a more worrying turn."

"For several years, President Blé Goudé has been the target of particularly virulent online harassment. But in recent weeks, this harassment has taken a more worrying turn: explicit death threats. A message posted on Facebook claimed that President Blé Goudé should have died at the ICC. The author added: "Unfortunately, he is still alive." Another internet user went so far as to announce his imminent death, even setting the deadline for the end of 2025," denounced the black robe.

For him, these comments constitute serious threats against his client's life, especially during this sensitive election period.

The lawyer hopes that his complaint will be "treated with the speed and seriousness that is required..."

"President Charles Blé Goudé will be required to travel, meet with the public, and campaign. His safety therefore becomes an absolute priority. And the safety of a citizen, let alone that of a political leader, is the responsibility of the public authorities," he declared. The lawyer hopes that his complaint will be "treated with the speed and seriousness that the current electoral context demands."

Blé Goudé arrêtes ton cinéma ! personne n'a le temps de s'abaisser à te tuer.
