Tabaski au Mali : Assimi Goita appelle le peuple à resserrer les rangs derrière les FAMA et de leurs partenaires

The Muslim community of Mali celebrated Eid al-Adha, also known as Tabaski, on Wednesday, May 27. The Presidency of the Republic also participated in the celebrations. In the morning, the President of the Transition, General Assimi Goïta, attended the main prayer led by the Imam of the Koulouba Palace, Mahmoud Touré. In his sermon, the Imam offered prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity for Mali.

Tabaski, a "time for reunions, communion, prayers and blessings"

The president was surrounded by Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maiga, the president of the National Transitional Council (CNT) Malick Diaw and government ministers.

Following the prayer which took place for the occasion in the banquet hall of the Koulouba palace, Assimi Goita addressed the press.

He reminded everyone that Tabaski is a "time for reunions, communion, prayers, and blessings." He implored the Almighty to accept the supplications of the Malian people for the stability of the country, peaceful coexistence, and peace.

Speaking about the country's security situation, the leader indicated that Mali is "a victim of its sovereign choice. The choice to take its destiny into its own hands."

It is therefore subject to several forms of terrorism, including state terrorism, economic, political, media and international terrorism.

"All the relentless attacks through manipulated narratives cannot shake the will of the Malian people..."

To win this war, Assimi Goïta calls on all Malians, each in their area of expertise, to unite and rally behind the Malian armed forces and their partners.

"All the attacks through manipulated narratives cannot shake the will of the Malian people for peace and sovereignty," continued the Malian leader.

He assured that military operations would continue and that terrorists would be pursued and neutralized until the country was completely pacified.
