Internet users have many questions about his recent appearances. Indeed, in his videos shared on TikTok, we see Niagass in the studio, brimming with energy. Some of the content even reads: "ALBUM COMING SOON."
He sometimes plays his old songs, offers riddles, tales or tells stories that make you laugh.
Since the release in 2018 of his album "Ousseynou ak Assane" with rapper Fou Malade, Niagass had moved away from the music scene, preferring to remain discreet, away from the spotlight.
But in recent days, the rapper from the first generation of Senegalese hip-hop has resurfaced on social media. Everything seems to indicate that he's preparing to release a new album. And his spectacular TikTok videos could well be a communication strategy to mark his big comeback.
Born on June 15, 1972 in Saint-Louis, Niagass, whose real name is Papa Demba Aw, is the founder of the group Blood Brothers, renamed Tundu Wundu in 2002. He quickly stood out in Galsen Rap through his commitment and humor.
In 1997, he toured France to contribute to the internationalization of Senegalese hip-hop. His group released the album "Xundu" (Fed Up) in 2002. As a solo artist, he followed up with "Xiiru Siiru" (The Cry of the Old Cat) in 2004, "Diisoo" in 2011, and then "Résistants" in 2012.
After a long break, his last known project remains "Ousseynou ak Assane" (2018), in duet with Fou Malade.
Today, he's trying to reconnect with the public on TikTok.
