Bad Bunny renonce aux États-Unis pour sa tournée mondiale par peur de descentes de police de l’immigration dans ses concerts
Fearing raids by immigration agents during his concerts, the Puerto Rican rapper has decided not to perform in the United States.
Rather than risk any kind of risk to his fans, Bad Bunny is opting out of the United States. The 31-year-old Puerto Rican singer has spoken to British magazine iD about his fears of ICE patrols at US concert venues .
"There are several reasons why I don't perform in the United States," the 31-year-old musician explained in an interview published Wednesday, citing in particular the "problem" of the possible presence of these police outside his concert halls.
"It's something we've talked about and that we've been very concerned about," added the artist, who on Sunday ends a 30-concert residency that has boosted tourism on his native Puerto Rico, a Caribbean territory attached to the United States.
"Americans could come here to see the show. Latinos and Puerto Ricans from the United States could also come here, or from any other part of the world," said the artist, whose tour will take in Latin America, Australia, and Europe between November 2025 and July 2026.
With Donald Trump's policy of mass arrests targeting what he calls illegal immigrants, the number of those detained by the American police reached a record high of 60,254 in June (compared to 40,500 in January, before his return to the White House), according to an analysis conducted by AFP based on official data.
In Puerto Rico, where immigration enforcement also operates, 500 immigrants, mostly Dominicans, were arrested in the four months following Donald Trump's return to power, a local official with the agency, Rebecca Gonzalez-Ramos, said in an interview with NPR. Bad Bunny himself posted a video of an intervention on the island on his social media in June.
