Actes contre nature : Lourdes peines requises contre un jeune de 19 ans et un septuagénaire
The Mbour High Court judged a case of unnatural acts, offenses against public morals and incitement to debauchery or corruption of youth, which involves a 73-year-old man and a 19-year-old.
In court, the young man, AC, explained that he met the septuagenarian in 2025. He claims to have had paid sexual relations with him. According to his statements, the sums paid ranged from 5,000 to 10,000 CFA francs per encounter. He then stated that he had only had one sexual encounter with the old man, while maintaining that Bastian Plaza regularly gave him money.
Cornered by the court's questions, the young man admitted that he had been involved with people of the same sex since he was young. For his part, the septuagenarian categorically denies having had any sexual relations with the young man. He explains that the latter ran errands for him and simply gave him money from time to time.
In his closing argument, the public prosecutor denounced "a moral depravity within society." He explained that the two men had been arrested following an anonymous tip at a local hotel. The prosecutor's office stated that police surveillance led to their arrest. The prosecutor also indicated that a medical certificate confirmed the existence of sexual penetration. According to him, despite the septuagenarian's "systematic denials," the facts are established.
The prosecution also alleges that pornographic videos featuring two people of the same sex were found on the defendant's computer. Finally, the prosecution believes that BP is guilty of inciting debauchery by giving money to AC after each encounter.
At the end of his submissions, the prosecutor requested five years of imprisonment and a fine of 200,000 CFA francs against AC. Against the septuagenarian BP, he requested ten years of imprisonment as well as a fine of one million CFA francs.
Representing the defendants, attorney Banna Wade argued the young man's fragility and vulnerability. He also challenged the strength of the case, asserting that no credence could be given to an anonymous accusation. "They weren't caught in the act. On what evidence will they be convicted?" he asked the court, reminding everyone that one of the defendants firmly denies having engaged in sexual relations.
The two defendants will learn their fate on Tuesday, June 9th.
