Pool judiciaire financier : vers une « confrontation explosive » entre Tabaski Ngom et Moustapha Diop
The case between Tabaski Ngom, the former accountant of Aprosi, and Moustapha Diop, the former Minister of Industry, is heading towards what L'Observateur describes as an "explosive confrontation." Both protagonists, remanded in custody by the Financial Judicial Pool (PJF) for embezzlement estimated at over 700 million CFA francs, are locked in a battle of diametrically opposed accounts.
"The architect" versus "the instrument"
On one side, the former Treasury accountant claims to have been "the instrument of a system orchestrated by Moustapha Diop." In an effort to escape what they describe as "penal isolation," her lawyers no longer dispute the facts but offer a contextual interpretation. Their client maintains, in particular, that she gave some of the funds to the former minister to finance his campaign for the November 2024 legislative elections.
The war of evidence
On the other side, Moustapha Diop's defense categorically denies the allegations. His lawyers contest all the elements put forward by the opposing party and maintain that "the discharge brandished by Tabaski Ngom is not authentic," calling into question the reliability of the evidence presented.
The confrontation with truth
Tabaski Ngom's lawyers, quoted by the newspaper of the Future Media Group, see a potential confrontation as a decisive step. They assert that they "do not refuse a confrontation [...] to truly know the truth," convinced that "the truth is on [their] side." For the former accountant's defense, the challenge is to demonstrate that she is not the mastermind of the alleged scheme, but rather "the victim of an abusive hierarchy."
