Cheikh Bara Ndiaye charge IGFM et dénonce un article «tendancieux »
Following the publication of an article entitled "Very serious accusations by Cheikh Bara Ndiaye" on the IGFM website, MP Cheikh Bara Ndiaye accuses the media of wanting to prepare public opinion for a possible legal procedure against him.
In a reaction published on social media on Monday, May 4, 2026, the ally of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko denounced an article that was "biased" and contrary to "journalistic ethics," believing that the media outlet was "acting as a prosecutor" to demand his arrest.
Cheikh Bara Ndiaye thus rejects any accusation of making outrageous remarks towards President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and considers that this affair is part of an attempt to "muzzle" him.
In his publication, the MP also denounces what he considers to be selective treatment, stating that several people have made more serious remarks against Ousmane Sonko without receiving similar reactions.
Furthermore, Mr. Ndiaye also questioned the summons of journalist Pape Ngagne Ndiaye. "Until the summons of journalist Pape Ngagne Ndiaye, which legitimately raises a crucial question: is this not, in reality, a preparation of public opinion in relation to a future action concerning me?" he wrote.
The article refers to the statement made by MP Cheikh Bara Ndiaye on Walf TV last Saturday that President Diomaye Faye had promised Ousmane Sonko to support his candidacy for the 2029 presidential election during a meeting held on August 15, 2025 in the presence of several Pastef officials.
According to him, the head of state is now seeking to run for a second term, which he considers a betrayal, while reaffirming that Sonko will be the candidate of their camp in 2029.
