During the installation of Néné Fatoumata Tall as departmental coordinator of the Alliance for the Republic (APR, former ruling party), in Guédiawaye, a message from the party's founder, Macky Sall, read by former Prime Minister Me Sidiki Kaba and reported by Les Échos, set six strategic missions for the leaders of the political formation.
In a context of political realignment, the former Senegalese head of state first insists on the need to reconnect with the base to reaffirm the founding values: "militant camaraderie, serenity and a spirit of transcendence".
He then emphasized the primacy of the party over personal ambitions and warned against internal disputes, calling for a focus on solidarity and collective commitment. For Macky Sall, the survival of this "precious family jewel" depends on democratic and consensus-based leadership choices, the only guarantees of strong legitimacy in the face of future electoral battles.
Diomaye Faye's predecessor is urging his supporters to transform the current period into a moment of unity rather than a leadership struggle. The goal is to build a "powerful bloc" capable of protecting the party from all external threats. Finally, he is calling for an expansion of the APR's base, both in Senegal and within the diaspora, while strengthening strategic alliances with the rest of the opposition and citizen movements to exert lasting influence on the national political scene.
