Articles L29 et L30 : les détails des votes, intrigue autour des voix manquantes de Pastef
Les Échos reports that 141 out of 165 members of parliament voted during the examination of the proposed amendment to Article L29 and the repeal of Article L30 of the Electoral Code. Two parliamentarians abstained: Pape Djibril Fall (Les Serviteurs) and Lamine Thiam (PDS, Takku-Wallu), the newspaper reveals.
The same source adds that 11 MPs voted against: Aïssata Tall Sall, Abdou Mbow, Tafsir Thioye, Birima Mangara, Cheikh Oumar Ann, Nafi Kane, Mamadou Diaw, Djimo Souaré, Thierno Alassane Sall and Anta Babacar Ngom.
One detail caught the attention of the daily newspaper: Pastef did not secure a full majority. "Only" 128 of its 130 members of parliament approved the proposal they had initiated. "Despite Les Échos' best efforts, no information has leaked out," the newspaper concedes, noting: "Even Félicité Bougane Sarr, a close associate of Diomaye Faye, who, like him, hails from Ndiaganiao, voted in favor [of the text]."
