Audience au Palais : Amadou Ba estime que le Sénégal doit "renouer une relation apaisée avec les partenaires financiers"
Former Prime Minister Amadou Ba took part on Thursday in a meeting convened at the Palace of the Republic by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, as part of the national dialogue undertaken with former heads of government.
At the end of this hearing, Amadou Ba stressed the need, in a context of high social expectations and economic uncertainties, to provide "rapid, credible and pragmatic" responses to the concerns of the people.
On the economic front, he focused primarily on the issue of the country's international credibility, believing that Senegal must "re-establish a calm and credible relationship with technical and financial partners" such as the IMF, in order to avoid a lasting worsening of economic difficulties.
Speaking about the electoral process, the former head of government argued for an extension of the deadlines, in order to allow the various stakeholders to finalize their observations in a calm atmosphere, marked according to him by "listening, appeasement and responsibility".
Security issues were also discussed. Amadou Ba called for increased vigilance in light of the evolving sub-regional situation, while stressing the need to strengthen the capabilities of the defense and security forces.
