The Keur Gorgui neighborhood almost relived the atmosphere of the 2021-2024 period for a meeting of the Pastef party leadership at the home of their leader, Ousmane Sonko, this Friday evening. In a political climate of high tension between the Diomaye-Sonko duo, where every move of the ruling party is closely scrutinized, the Prime Minister, who recently moved his offices from the Petit Palais (official residence) to his home in Keur Gorgui, met with the party's core members.
Although the meeting was held away from cameras and journalists (who were stationed about a hundred meters away), El Malick Ndiaye, a key figure in the party and current President of the National Assembly, revealed its main points. In a post published on the social network X, the national secretary for communication of Pastef emphasized that internal cohesion and strategic directions were on the agenda.
According to El Malick Ndiaye's report, which describes this meeting as "a simple working meeting", the discussions were marked by a review of the highlights and challenges that have marked the party's trajectory in recent years.
“A simple working meeting between a few party officials… But moments rich in exchanges, fraternity and memories of the journey traveled together. Moments that remind us that our true strength lies above all in commitment, fidelity to our convictions and the solidity of the bonds woven over the course of the struggles,” wrote the head of the chamber on X.
Emphasis was also placed on the need to maintain unwavering discipline and a united front in the face of the country's economic and social challenges, which demand a response from the regime. "Faced with the numerous challenges ahead, we remain steadfast in our determination, our unity, and our confidence in our shared vision. Each step forward further strengthens our resolve to serve with responsibility, courage, and perseverance," stated the Speaker of Parliament.
And beyond the trials, he adds on a hopeful note, "beautiful prospects are emerging for our country and for our collective project. Prospects full of hope, progress and sovereignty, which we will continue to build together, with faith, discipline and commitment."
