Coalition Diomaye Président : Bougar Diouf exclu pour son soutien à Macky Sall
The Diomaye President Coalition has officially announced the expulsion of Bougar Diouf. This decision follows a public statement by Diouf calling for support for former President Macky Sall's candidacy for the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations.
It was from Munich, on the sidelines of the International Security Conference, that Aminata Touré spoke on behalf of the coalition. For the former Prime Minister, the position expressed by Bougar Diouf during his recent press conference is in complete contradiction with the founding principles of the movement.
"Mr. Bougar Diouf has self-excluded from the Diomaye President Coalition and is no longer a member of our organization," declared Mimi Touré, specifying that prior warnings had nevertheless been given to him.
The coalition used this announcement to reaffirm the importance of internal discipline. Officials reiterated that each member had signed a letter of membership committing them to exclusively support the vision and direction of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
Aminata Touré also warned against information leaks and dissonant attitudes, stressing that internal deliberations must remain confidential to guarantee the strength of the alliance.
To learn from this incident, the Diomaye President Coalition announced concrete measures including an audit of members: A thorough check of the membership list is underway and a digital cleanup: The internal discussion group, which currently has 396 members, will soon be deleted and reformatted to guarantee maximum security of exchanges.
