Congrès de PASTEF : Ousmane Sonko exalte la dimension panafricaniste de son parti
During the large rally held this Sunday at Dakar Arena as part of the PASTEF congress, former Prime Minister and party president Ousmane Sonko delivered a speech marked by a passionate plea for the ideals championed by his political organization. Addressing thousands of activists and supporters, Sonko argued that PASTEF is far more than just a political party. According to him, the movement is first and foremost "an idea, a doctrine, and a strong conviction" that resonates in the hearts of millions of Senegalese. "One doesn't simply join an organization. Above all, there must be an idea. PASTEF is more than a political party. It is a living idea, a profound conviction that beats in the hearts of millions of Senegalese," he declared to the applause of the crowd.
The leader of the Patriots believes that the party's influence is no longer limited to national borders. In his view, the sovereignist and pan-Africanist project championed by PASTEF now inspires people far beyond Senegal. "This idea now transcends the borders of Senegal to resonate in the hearts of millions of Africans," he stated.
Looking back on the party's journey, Ousmane Sonko praised the commitment of its activists, who, he said, had enabled a new political debate to emerge in Senegal and Africa. He emphasized the crucial role of ideas and convictions in major historical transformations. While calling for perseverance, he reminded everyone that the struggle was not over. "What is important is that, at the end of the journey, the goal is achieved. And we are still on that journey," he declared.
