"Continuer Fanon" : Le manifeste de rupture d'Ousmane Sonko disponible en librairie
The newly established publishing house of the Museum of Black Civilizations, named "De-Berlinization Lab," has officially launched Ousmane Sonko's book, "Continuer Fanon" (Continuing Fanon). This book, priced at 10,000 FCFA, presents itself as a political and philosophical manifesto in the tradition of Frantz Fanon, an emblematic figure of the anti-colonial struggle. For the author, the urgency of this reflection remains undiminished because, as he emphasizes in the preamble, "as long as there are humiliated peoples, as long as there are the wretched of the earth, as long as a wind of domination blows across our continent, Fanon will remain alive."
Throughout these pages, the current Senegalese Prime Minister unfolds a line of thought described as "anti-establishment" and pan-African, developed during his years in opposition and reinforced by his rise to power. The book outlines the pillars of his political project, notably the withdrawal of foreign military bases, the renegotiation of energy resource contracts, and the rejection of the debt restructuring as currently imposed.
For publishers, Ousmane Sonko embodies the hope of a generation in search of sovereignty, having transformed his years of struggle into a "real popular base for a project of profound rupture with the neo-colonial order".
The book's approach is also marked by a desire for cultural and linguistic reappropriation, with the title and themes presented in French, Wolof, and English. This plurality reflects the author's ambition to reach a broad audience while reaffirming an African identity based on a "revaluation of our memories."
The book poses a fundamental question that serves as a guiding thread for the entire reflection: "how to finish what Fanon started?"
This is an invitation to concrete action to complete the process of liberating the continent.
Published under the auspices of the Museum of Black Civilizations, this work goes beyond the simple framework of political biography to become a tool for contributing to the debate on the decolonization of minds and economic structures.
