Création du parti du Président Diomaye : Ce que dénonce "Juge Dème"
The news has sparked reactions. Yesterday, Friday, President Diomaye announced his intention to create a political party. Ibrahima Hamidou Dème, President of the Together for Work, Integrity and Citizenship (ETIC) movement, sees this as a worrying step backward.
"If the information were confirmed, the creation of a political party by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye would constitute a break with the conclusions of the National Consultations and with his own commitment to be above the fray. This would be a worrying setback for good democratic governance," he reacted.
In a statement released Friday evening, the presidential coalition confirmed that the head of state had announced his intention "to move towards a more organic unity of the political forces supporting him, through the creation of a political party." Professor Diomaye made the announcement while welcoming the mayors who are members of his coalition.
To realize this ambition, the Head of State instructed the Coalition's general supervisor, Mimi Touré, to establish a reflection committee. This committee will be responsible for preparing, as quickly as possible, all the relevant components.
