"Des faits nouveaux..." : Thierno Alassane Sall réclame la levée des scellés de l'affaire Sweet Beauté
Opposition MP Thierno Alassane Sall (TAS) reacted strongly on Tuesday during the National Assembly's review of the proposed law amending the Electoral Code. In a forceful statement published on his social media, the leader of La République des Valeurs criticized the position of the PASTEF majority, which he accused of carrying out a selective "correction."
"So PASTEF claims to want to do rectification work. Fine. But then, what could be more wicked than an amnesty law that casts a veil over facts that the people have the right to know?" he wrote, pointing out the inconsistency between the desire for electoral fairness and the maintenance of opacity on recent events.
The parliamentarian also questioned the handling of certain sensitive cases that have marked Senegalese political life, specifically mentioning the case of Ousmane Sonko: "Why does the 'Sweet Beauté' conspiracy remain sealed, when serious new facts deserve to be investigated?" For Thierno Alassane Sall, the credibility of the current reform is inextricably linked to a review of the amnesty law.
"If the PASTEF majority really wants to respond to the demands of public opinion, let them reverse the amnesty law," he concluded, thus linking electoral transparency to the demand for judicial truth.
