"Gouverner s'apprend" : Abdou Fall tacle les nouveaux dirigeants
Invited to the "Sunday Jury" (JDD) on iRadio, former Minister of State Abdou Fall addressed a message to the new authorities.
According to him, exercising power is not something that can be improvised and requires extensive preparation. Drawing on his own political career, Abdou Fall points out that his generation climbed the ranks step by step before reaching the highest offices.
Activist commitment, local responsibilities, parliamentary mandate, party management… These are all steps that, according to him, forge a culture of the state and a mastery of the workings of the administration. “Power is a true engineering art,” he declares, believing that talent, eloquence, or intelligence are not enough to lead a country.
In his view, experience remains an essential component of effective governance. This statement by former minister Abdou Fall is a thinly veiled criticism of the new leaders, whom he believes have come to power without having received genuine training in public responsibilities.
He therefore argues for the return of political training schools and mechanisms for transmission between generations, so that future leaders acquire the necessary skills before exercising power.
