Gov’athon 2026 : quand Ousmane Sonko chahute sa nièce, lauréate à la Primature (vidéo)
At the Gov'athon 2026 awards ceremony at the Prime Minister's office, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko surprised many by revealing an unexpected close relationship with one of the winning groups. According to Les Échos, while the political climate was tense in the National Assembly, the head of government displayed a more relaxed side.
He himself indicated that one of the award recipients is his niece, his sister's daughter. In a playful tone, the Pastef leader even pretended to keep the check from the group she belongs to, in a moment marked by camaraderie. The newspaper emphasizes that "like any parent, the PM can be proud of his niece," illustrating an unusual moment within the solemn setting of the Prime Minister's office.
Beyond this brief interlude, the event marked the culmination of a process aimed at rethinking government services in light of contemporary challenges. Of the 21 finalist projects, three major initiatives were recognized. “AgriDataGov,” winner of the first prize in the Startup category, received 20 million FCFA for its platform for optimizing agricultural monitoring and decision support. “Sen Don,” developed by students, was awarded 10 million FCFA for its system connecting donors with healthcare facilities, designed to improve blood donation management. Finally, “Tontouma Bot” received 5 million FCFA for its voice assistant designed to facilitate access to administrative services, particularly for populations less familiar with digital technology.
