In the pages of the newspaper Yoor Yoor, political scientist Mamadou Wane Mao adopts a particularly incisive tone when commenting on the recent reshuffles within the Executive branch, notably the appointment of Al Aminou Lo as Prime Minister. The sociologist by training believes that Ousmane Sonko's assertion that "you can't have Pastef without Pastef" is well-founded. According to him, the new head of government suffers from a serious lack of grassroots legitimacy. Questioning his background, he declares: "Where was the current Prime Minister when the activists were fighting? He cannot carry the Pastef project." In his view, this historical disconnect limits his ability to fully embody the systemic transformation program expected by the Senegalese people.

The analyst's criticism intensifies regarding the Prime Minister's institutional stance. By displaying total loyalty to the President of the Republic, Al Aminou Lo has, according to Mamadou Wane Mao, adopted a politically problematic position. The political scientist emphasizes that "the new Prime Minister has undermined himself by declaring that he would obey the President of the Republic without question." He sees in this the risk of a return to a logic of "hyper-presidentialism," where the head of government would be reduced to a mere executor. Such an approach, he argues, would run counter to the ambitions of rebalancing power and institutional reform championed by the new majority.

Non, pas un politologue mais un sociologue avec des œillères unidirectionnelles. Ce choix est une décision technique hautement judicieuse pour l'économie : Une expertise financière pointue; il a occupé la fonction de ministre secrétaire général du gouvernement précédent, il connaît parfaitement les dossiers en cours et le programme de transformation nationale Sénégal 2050. Il est réputé comme un homme discret et orienté vers la culture du résultat, sa posture humble et policée chercherait à apaiser les tensions au sein de l'appareil d'État. Par sa culture modérée oui, à la différence du PM sortant, il s’inscrirait hors de quête de rupture systémique radicale dont nous avons eu un avant-goût tumultueux, agité rageux et trouble.
