Responding to recent statements by the Minister of Agriculture, Mabouba Diagne, Aly Ngouille Ndiaye firmly rejected accusations of overbilling concerning an agricultural equipment contract.
During his appearance on RFM's Grand Jury this Sunday, March 22, 2026, the former minister described these remarks as "clumsy" and affirmed that all regulatory procedures had been respected.
According to Mr. Ndiaye, the contract in question was signed before he took office, but was subsequently adjusted under the supervision of experts. "The prices were evaluated based on precise technical criteria and validated in accordance with market standards," he explained.
Personal involvement in monitoring
Aly Ngouille Ndiaye also emphasized the improvements made during his tenure, particularly regarding storage capacity and equipment performance. He specified that he had personally been involved in monitoring the project, even going so far as to verify the manufacturing conditions of the equipment abroad to ensure its quality.
For the former minister, it is essential not to undermine a program he considers beneficial for rural areas. "What Senegal needs today is to strengthen its agricultural capacity, not to create controversy," he argues. He therefore calls for prioritizing a technical and objective analysis of the issue, based on expert conclusions rather than political opinions.
