Mbour : Cheikh Issa Sall appelle les maires de Thiès à rejoindre la Coalition Diomaye Président (Meeting)
During President Bassirou Diomaye Faye's visit to the Caroline Faye Stadium, the mayor of Mbour, Cheikh Issa Sall, made a strong appeal to local elected officials in the department of Mbour and the region of Thiès, to join the "Diomaye President" coalition.
"Kou lamb yatay dagoul faniou la nobé," declared the mayor of Mbour before a mobilized crowd, inviting political leaders to overcome divisions and put themselves at the service of national development.
In a speech with both political and social overtones, Cheikh Issa Sall presented Mbour as a key component of the Senegalese economy thanks to its potential in the tourism, fishing, transport, and service sectors. According to him, it would be "illusory to think that Senegal can take off without Mbour."
The mayor, however, painted a worrying picture of the difficulties facing the municipality. He specifically mentioned the suspension of the roadworks program covering 13 kilometers of roads, financed through Promoville and FERA, as well as the delay in the disbursement of PACASEN funds.
Sheikh Issa Sall also emphasized the need to strengthen the city's healthcare infrastructure. He advocated for upgrading Mbour Hospital to level 3 to provide the population with access to higher-quality medical care. He noted that a motion had been passed by the municipal council in support of this request.
Speaking about his "1.10.100 Yessal Mbour" program, the mayor reaffirmed his ambition to modernize the municipality and make it a resilient city. He then asked the government to implement a special program for Mbour to accelerate its development.
On the political front, the leader of the Unity Party officially announced his support for the Head of State and the presidential coalition. "Sheikh Issa Sall and his supporters are answering the President's call," he stated, urging his activists and officials to work alongside the majority forces.
In an atmosphere marked by chants and applause, he finally invited political actors to make the "Caroline Faye Stadium Pact" a collective commitment for the stability and development of Senegal.
